QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

The following two questions have the same answer below:

Q: What is the purpose of all the 24 port switches? Is it a requirement to bid them? This will leave about 75% ports unused.

Q: It appears someone has already worked out the design and solution, but without the quantities of the items it is difficult to read the mind of the engineer who designed it. For instance in bldg. 2 it calls out for an Axis P7216 which is a video encoder, so if we are replacing all the analog devices why would you require that?

A: The work covered under this Contract consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials and performing all work required to replace existing video surveillance/recording system with a new fully functional system. The Contract is determined to be of supply type, due to the fact that video surveillance/recording systems are considered accountable equipment rather than real property by the Air Force and the equipment portion of the requirement has been determined to be the preponderance. The associated equipment is solicited as Brand Name or Equal, in accordance with (IAW) the provision at FAR 52.211-6. An equivalent solution would not have to include all the same equipment listed in ATTACHMENT 3, AMENDMENT NUMBER 1 as long as relevant information proving that the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics as compared to the equipment listed in ATTACHMENT 3, AMENDMENT NUMBER 1 will be met or exceeded. If an offeror feels that what they are proposing will accomplish the contract they should propose accordingly and provide a notation that an exception was taken and why that exception was taken. An offeror can break out their equipment pricing however they wish as long as UID (see DFARS 252.211-7003) applicable items are identified and all locations on the drawings are accounted for.

Q: The extended warranty is for a camera that is not specified?

A: The entire integrated system shall carry a warranty for workmanship with routine maintenance for a period of one (1) year from the time of acceptance. The equivalence of extended equipment warranties would be compared to that for the make or model number listed in ATTACHMENT 3, AMENDMENT NUMBER 1.

Q: After reviewing the SOW for this project, I notice it calls out for various types of indoor (3 types) and external (2 types) camera's however, no mention is made of quantity of each type or the location of the camera. Has an additional document been released showing the quantity of camera types?

A: The drawings shall be used to identify indoor/outdoor camera locations, no document has been or will be released to identify quantities.
