.a. Format shall be IAW Appendix E of MIL-STD-2073-1E.

.b. SPI submitted during EMD shall be updated to address

.approach for Production.

.c. SPI shall be developed for KC-X peculiar items SMR coded "P"

.and ERRC coded C, S, or T with activity designations SC, SE, .SJ, SP, ST, SU, SX, TA or TG. Also, complex ERRC coded N, U, or

.P items for which packaging cannot be adequately prescribed

.with a line of data. First consideration shall be given to the

.use of a multi-application container as listed by National

.Stock Number (NSN) in MIL-STD-2073-1E, Appendix C, Table C.IV.

.The NSN of the selected container shall be specified in Block 7

.on DD Form 2326 located in MIL-STD-2073-1E, Appendix E, figure

.E1. When size, weight, configuration or fragility rating of the

.item exceeds the parameters of the multi-application container

.in MIL-STD-2073-1E, Appendix C, Figure E2, Appendix E shall

.apply with first consideration given to a detailed drawing (See

.Appendix E, E.5, Preparation of Special Packaging

.Instructions). The SPI number for drawings shall consist of the

.last nine digits (numerical) of the item's NSN and shall be

.specified in Blocks 28-36 Part D on DD Form 2326. Special

.markings are outlined in MIL-STD-2073-1E, Appendix J, .Paragraph J.4.14. Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive

.(ESDS) items and assemblies as defined by MIL-STD-1686C and

.Hazardous Materials per CFR 49 shall be identified as such on

.all data supplied under this exhibit.

.Blk 7: The Letter of Transmittal shall list each NSN if

.assigned and specify whether submittal is partial, corrected or

.final. Inspection/Acceptance shall be at Prime ALC, 420

CONTINUATION OF TDP OPTION SELECTION WORKSHEET, BLOCK 8

ADDITIONAL MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS/INSTRUCTIONS

1. Copies of the Technical Data Package (TDP) to support reviews and audits shall be the least costly media that meets the stated requirements. Alternate proposals that would satisfy this requirement may be submitted for consideration/approval to 558 CBSS/GBHBA. Paper media review requirements shall be satisfied when TDP documents are provided in digitized format through remote and/or local access terminals from contractor files. Training and assistance shall be provided to government personnel accessing digital TDP documents.

2. TDP documents prepared by automated equipment, i.e., Computer Aided Design (CAD), may contain printed names in the title block in lieu of signatures, providing the signatures of the approving officials are recorded on an engineering document release record or entries are controlled by a contractor security access system.

3. Each TDP document delivered shall be identified with Weapons System Code FK. This code shall be entered in each TDP document, the shipping list, and the DD Form 250 accompanying each digital TDP delivery.

4. 2D/3D Vector Data Sets shall be delivered in accordance with MIL-STD-31000, Air Force Drawing 9835015, Rev E, MIL-PRF-28000B (IGES) or ISO 10303 (STEP).

5. Classified Data shall be delivered digitally on ISO-9660 and ISO-10149 compliant Compact Disk (CD). CD's bearing classified information must be marked with the highest level of classification stored on it as well as any special control notices that apply to the information using one of the labels specified in DOD 5200.1-R. The label may be affixed to the sleeve or container in which the CD is stored.

6. Other TDP documentation requirements imposed by the following specifications, standards or work tasks by the contract or order shall be applied to or referenced on the applicable TDP documents.

7. When Portable Document Files PDF files are required, they shall be in accordance with AF Drawing 9835015 Rev E.

8. Existing multi-detail drawings and associated lists developed using contractors standard drawing practices may be acceptable when the contractors drawing practice provides traceability of part number designations to the drawing on which it is defined. The CAGE Code, TDP Document Number, and Part Number for an item depicted on a new or existing document shall meet the requirements of ASME Y14.100, Chapter 6 and Appendix D. Parts Lists are required for each assembled item. Drawings, associated lists, and other engineering data shall be such that their intent and interpretation are clear and unambiguous.
