UNIT PACK WEIGHT UNIT PACK SIZE

Since this is a repair contract, see paragraph 4.8 of MIL-STD-2073-1D for packaging of excess government property. When shipping containers are received that meet the requirements of this form and are suitable for return shipment of serviceable assets, they shall be reclaimed, stored and protected for reuse. Unserviceable containers shall be disposed of and replaced with new containers that meet these requirements.

1. PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS: Block 1 shall always be completed and further defined in Blocks 2, 3, or 4. The term "Item ID" refers to line item number, item name, NSN/MMAC, part number, or any other way of identifying a particular item. MIL-STD-2073-1 represents Military Preservation (PRES) and Packing (PACK). Military packing consists of levels A, B, and Minimum (M). ASTM D3951 could be substituted by another document if specified in Block 2. Quantity Per Unit (QUP) and Commercial Best Practice (CBP) are abbreviated. The reverse side of this form has the European Union environmental requirements.

THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE UNITED NATIONS-IMPLEMENTED RESTRICTIONS ON SOLID WOOD PACKING MATERIAL (SWPM). THIS REQUIREMENT IS SPECIFICALLY CONCERNED WITH INVASIVE SPECIES SUCH AS THE PINEWOOD NEMATODE. THE STATEMENT BELOW CITES THE REQUIREMENTS IN DETAIL AND COVERS LUMBER FOR BUILDING CONTAINERS AND PALLETS USED FOR DELIVERIES RESULTING IN SHIPMENTS WORLDWIDE (DIRECT, OR THROUGH AIR LOGISTICS CENTERS (ALC), CONTAINER CONSOLIDATION

POINTS (CCP), OR OTHER BASES).

WOODEN LUMBER, WOODEN PALLET AND PACKAGING/CONTAINER STATEMENT:

ALL WOODEN LUMBER, WOODEN PALLETS, AND WOODEN CONTAINERS PRODUCED ENTIRELY OR IN PART OF SOLID WOOD PACKING MATERIAL (SWPM) SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED FROM HEAT-TREATED (HT) MATERIAL (HT 56 DEGREES CENTIGRADE OR 133 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT FOR 30 MINUTES). CERTIFICATION/MARKING IS REQUIRED BY AN ACCREDITED AGENCY RECOGNIZED BY THE AMERICAN LUMBER STANDARDS COMMITTEE (ALSC).
