CONTRACTOR QUESTIONS

REPAIR FIRE ALARM BLDG 238

August 29, 2016

Q1: Is the contractor to provide new tamper and flow switches or only hook up to existing?

A: Installation of new tamper and flow switches is a requirement and to better clarify this the statement of work has been modified to read “The installation shall include new water flow/tamper/PIV monitor modules and new water flow switches for all suppression systems per current Base and NFPA guidelines.”

Q2: Is the PIV new or existing?

A: All PIVs are existing and to better clarify this the statement of work has been modified by removing the reference to new PIVs to read “The installation shall include new water flow/tamper/PIV monitor modules and new water flow switches for all suppression systems per current Base and NFPA guidelines.”

Q3: Can the contractor count on the conduit to the PIV being intact or will a new underground conduit need to be run?

A: This will need to be field verified. Contractors shall assume new underground conduit will be needed as they will be required to make these connections to the PIVs one way or the other.

Q4: Can the work performance Delivery date be extended from 120 days to say 240 days?

A: The period of performance shall be increased to 180 days.
