Questions and Answers
White House 5 is the name of the facility.
Questions for Bid
1. Are Scaled Drawings available?
Answer: Yes, scaled drawings can be made available upon request. The overall dimension of the facility is 87’ 1½” x 160’ 10¼”.
2. Are Ceilings Suspended? Or Hard Lid?
Answer: Both; depending on the room depends on whether or not there are suspended ceilings. Rooms with raised floors have no false ceilings; rooms with no false floors have suspended ceilings. This can be depicted on a scaled drawing and made available upon request.
3. Are there existing Cable Trays for wiring above ceilings?
Answer: Yes there are existing cable trays above the suspended ceilings, however, some conduit has been preinstalled to run IDS and ACS wire lines throughout the facility.
4. Can Existing Wiring be utilized?
Answer: No, there is not existing wiring. This is a new facility requiring a first time install of both IDS and ACS.
5. Is a “UPS” required? If so, What Time/Power Duration is required?
Answer: Yes, 8 hours min required in power backup.
6. Are “Or Equal” Equipment substitutions allowed?
Answer: Yes, if stated as “or equal” substitutions are allowed however substitutions must meet UL 2050 standards
7. Is “Plenum Wire” acceptable?
Answer: I am not familiar with plenum wire, however if it’s shielded copper wire, that is acceptable. However, the preferred wiring for this facility is fiber.
8. Is “After Hours Access” for said work, available to contractor at no add’l cost to the Gov’t?
Answer: Afterhours access will be on a case by case basis only and will depend on the availability of gov’t personnel for escort afterhours
9. Please provide/post other “Q & A” requests.
Answer: This is not a question.
10. Please supply quantities for the following: Undefined quantity Miscellaneous Power supplies and batteries.
Undefined quantity Request to exit sensors and buttons.
Answer: All quantities should have been listed or identified. There should be 28 request to exit push buttons. For power supplies, every access control enclosure and panel are required to have battery packs for battery backup. There are 30 access control enclosures which translates to 30 power supplies and 30 batteries. There are also 8 large panels that require power supply and backup batteries.
