Lease & Maintenance of De-ionized Water Purification Systems
Question 1: To properly size the Water Purification systems, can you give me the following info for each of the (39) systems:
a. Flow Rate in gallons
b. Estimated Daily Usage in gallons
c. Quality requirement.
Response: Government systems requires a water purity with a specific resistance of 50 kilo-ohms/cm @ 25 degrees Celsius and with a minimum flow rate of five (5) gallons per minute. The inlet water shall be regulated between 40 degrees F and 100 degrees F. The temperature shall not exceed the maximum allowable temperature for the filter media, or 100 degrees F.
On the 1/2 mix bed system, the minimum flow rate is two (2) gallons per minute and shall be capable of providing 500 gallons per month. The system shall provide water purity with a specific resistance of 10 meg-ohms/cm @ 25 degrees Celsius. The temperature shall not exceed the maximum allowable temperature for the filter media, or 100 degrees F.
The appendix A and A-1 tells the contractor how many resin sets are required for each system. From this information should be able to determine the amount of gallons of de-ionized water needed per month and per year.
