Noise FigureDecibelsNoise Figure (NF) is the Noise factor converted to Decibel (dB). It is a measure of degradation of the signal to noise ratio (SNR), caused by components in the RF signal chain, for a given bandwidth. Noise figure (NF) is a measure of degradation of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), caused by components in a radio frequency (RF) signal chain. The noise figure is the difference in decibels (dB) between the noise output of the actual receiver to the noise output of an “ideal” receiver with the same overall gain and bandwidth when the receivers are connected to matched sources at the standard noise temperature T0 (usually 290 K). . 1.1.1.2Prime Mission Product Software (Release 1...n)This element is the software associated with the Electronic Warfare system and covers all software effort associated with the release. Effort included in this element is further defined in MIL-STD-881C, Appendix B, Section B.4.2.2.2.New
1.1.1.2.1CSCI (1…n)See Software Development TableAn aggregation of software or any of its discrete portions that satisfies an end use function and has been designated by the Government or Contractor, if the Government did not specify, for configuration management. CSCIs are the major software products of a system acquisition, which are developed in accordance with standard DoD or commercial practices and processes.New
Software LanguageTextTextTextThe predominant computer language in which the development was conducted.XXXXContractor2
Product Size - DeliveredSLOCSLOCSLOCThe delivered size of the product developed, not including any code that was needed to assist development but was not delivered (such as temporary stubs, test scaffoldings, or debug statements). SLOC shall reflect logical size, as opposed to physical, etc.XXXXContractor2
Product Size - EffectiveSLOCThe equivalent size for the adjusted size of the product developed.XXXXContractor1
ESLOC EquationTextThe equation used to derive Equivalent Source Lines of Code (ESLOC).XXXXContractor2
New CodeSLOCSLOCSLOCThe delivered size of the product developed that is human generated.XXXXContractor1
Modified CodeSLOCSLOCSLOCModified code is defined as pre-developed code that can be incorporated in the software component with a significant amount of effort, but less effort than required for a newly developed code.XXXXContractor1
Reused CodeSLOCSLOCSLOCCode from external sources (government-furnished or otherwise) that is included and resused without modification. However, there may be an amount of retest required.XXXXContractor1
Carryover CodeSLOCSLOCSLOCPre-existing code that has already been introduced into the baseline for this software product during a previous build. For example, if code from Build 1 is continued in the baseline for Build 2, it is likely to require additional effort for functional and regression testing during the delivery of Build 2. Carryover code is different from "reused" code from a separate program or source as the effort to understand and get it integrated into this program's baseline has already occured in an earlier build for this program.XXXXContractor2
Auto-generated codeSLOCSLOCSLOCNew code that is automatically generated using a code generating tool. These tools will generate many lines for each selection or instruction typed by a human. It is important to keep this separate from human generated new code because effort per line of code is much less for autogenerated than human generated (i.e., if included it would over estimate effort if used in a parametric model or a productivity-based estimate; if included as the basis of a productivity metric for future use it will understate the effort required if the new system has only human generated code).XXXXContractor3
