Request for Information (RFI) Response

RFI #3

Question: Does BCE have preferred Fire Protection System Contractors?

Response: BCE does not have any preferred Fire Protection System Contractors.

RFI #4

Question: Can the new duplex receptacles in room 114 be wired from an existing circuit or is a new dedicated circuit required?

Response: The receptacle can be run off of an existing receptacle circuit providing it does not overload the circuit per the NEC.

RFI #5

Question: What is the required level of certification for the fire alarm designer?

Response: Required level of certification is NICET Level 4.

RFI #6

Question: Can the hose bib and drain to be installed be surface mounted or does it have to be in wall?

Response: The hose bib and drain shall be mounted in the wall.

RFI #7

Question: Will the existing drop ceilings that are currently in place need to be replaced?

Response: Existing ceilings will not need to be replaced unless damaged during construction. If damage occurs, contractor will repair/replace damaged ceilings.

RFI #8 - Clarification

Question: Please provide specifications for both the Air Compressor and Refrigerated Dryer.

Response: Existing Air Compressor and existing Air Dryer are supplied by the Government.

Contractor is not required to purchase these items. This project requires installation of the supplied Air Compressor and Air Dryer.

RFI #9

Question: Can existing conduits be reused where practical for fire alarm wiring?

Response: Existing FA conduit may be used in its current location only. It shall not be removed and used in other locations.

Question: Does new or existing conduit need to be painted?

Response: Painting the conduit is not required.
