Tab F – Questions #3
1. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2g, HVAC Filter Location and Quantities: Building
128 shows 5 – 24 x 24 x 12 and 11 - 24 x 20 x 12 metal type filters. Please answer the following questions:
a. Are these filters metal-cased pleated filters?
Answer: Yes they are metal-cased pleated filters.
b. Do they have a header or not?
Answer: Yes they have a header.
c. While all of the metal type filters we have found have a U.L. Class 2 rating, none of those that we have found utilize a MERV rating; the rating system in place is typically, 65%, 85% and 95%. Which level of efficiency is required?
Answer: 85%
d. Are they required to be replaced every 3 months just like a 1 or 2 inch filter?
Answer: No, replace these filters annually.
2. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2g, HVAC Filter Location and Quantities: Building
126 shows 8 filters identified as “Lieberts”. While we are aware of what Liebert systems are,
a. What specific systems are these filters for?
Answer: Network Communication Center (NCC) Room
b. Do these filters also require a change every 3 months?
Answer: Yes
3. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2g, HVAC Filter Location and Quantities: Building 503 shows pleated type filters with dimensions being “Model 401”. Please provide information that will allow an offeror to properly price this item.
Answer: Filter fits an Aprilaire model 2400
4. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2e, Elevator Types: Would the government please provide the type of elevators the contract must maintain (i.e. hydraulic/traction/electric), along with the number of floors in each building, so that we can properly price the
Inspection and Preventative Maintenance requirements?

5. Question: Reference PWS F5.18, Fire Protection Services: Reference the Frequency of the services requested is the government requiring the Annual Services and Monthly
Services or all services such as the 5-Year, 10-Year, 20-Year, and 50-Year frequency as noted in UFC3-601-02, para 2-2.3 Wet Pipe Sprinkler Systems ITM tasks?
Typically the Fire Protection Services are quoted based on the Annual and Monthly
Frequency with the 5 Year, 10 Year, and 20 Year Requirements quoted as an Extra when due for that requirement.
Answer: All maintenance required up to and including the 5 year inspection should be FFP as part of your bid. Requirements beyond 5 years will be done as a CM work order.
6. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2h, Fire Pumps Wet and Dry Pipe Systems: There are four Fire Pumps listed to be serviced. Would the government please provide the
GPM of these pumps?
Answer: This information is not available.
7. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2h, Fire Alarm Detection Systems: The list of Fire
Detection, Protection and Suppression Systems provided states there are 129 Fire
Alarm Detection Systems. Would the government please provide the number of devices on each system?
Answer: This data is listed in F-TE-2h.
8. Question: Reference PWS F-TE-2h, Risers on Suppression Systems: Would the government please provide the number of Risers on the Wet and Dry Suppression
Systems?
Answer: 70
9. Question: Reference PWS F6.2.1, Pest Management Services: Would the government please provide the building numbers and square footage of the facilities requiring pest management inspection and services, along with the frequency of the inspections?
Answer: The Pest Management Plan Identifies a frequency of monthly for surveillance/inspection to the CAC, Bldg 113.
