ADDENDUM FOR
QJKL 07 – 0008 Replace Roof, Building 805
1. Technical Drawing sheet A2 – Caged ladder concrete slab requirement note:
Change to: Place a 36” (W) x 4” (D) x 10’ (L) unreinforced concrete slab.
The new slab must fit between the existing building wall and sidewalk with the felt installed.”
2. As a general note: The current roof insulation is 4.5” thick, with one ¾” thick fire-rated board between the steel deck and insulation, another 3/4 “ fire-rated board between the insulation and the membrane. Since the new high density board is ½” thick maximum, use two layers of 2.5” Poly-isocyanurate board with two layers of ½” thick fire-rated high-density (HD) board. Use high-density fire-rated board that meets UL 790 standard. The high-density board provides good adherence for the membrane when attached with bond adhesive.
3. Add: Apply ½” slope tapered insulation to crickets for positive drainage.
4. Section 07 60 Part 3 Execution: Use aluminum instead of copper for new coping metal.
5. Use 3/8” laminated plywood and attach it to the wall. The plywood will provide good adherence for the membrane flashing covering the exterior wall when applied with bonding adhesive.
