RFI for FA5720-15-B-0009; Repair Typhoon Damaged Door:

1) If the existing door frame is usable, do the contractors still have to replace it and use a new one?

Yes.

2) For BLDG2602 double metal door including door frame; It is stated 'This door should be fire rated. In order to meet NFPA 101 & 80 and NEC, UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES (UL) UL 10C (2009) Standard for Positive Pressure Fire Tests of Door Assemblies. Do the contractors have to at least use UL 1.5H Fire rated doors?

Yes, 1.5H.

3) 'UFC4-010-01' means that doors must to meet the minimum antiterrorism performance criteria?

4) Do the contractors have to use the product that passed the examination based on the statement ASTM F1642 & F2248 of UFC 4-010-01?

5) In the paragraph "Standard Test Method for Glazing and Glazing Systems Subject to Air blast Loadings ASTM F1642-04 of 3.1.10", there is a statement below: test director—the individual identified by the independent testing laboratory as being responsible to complete the specified tests as required and to document the results, in accordance with this test method. Do they have to include the result from testing institution for submittal?

No. Manufacture’s certification should be okay.

6) Since the room in BLDG 2602 is a high voltage mechanical room, can they exclude UFC 4-010-01 standard for BLDG2602, double metal door including door frame?

No. Please comply with UFC 4-010-01.

7) Statement of Work EVKP 15-4409, Page 8 of 43, 5.2 Civil/Architectural Work, B2602, Par. 2. It states "Provide new double metal door .....". By "metal" do you mean steel?

Yes (SOW updated).

8) Statement of Work CABT 15-4417, Page 5 of 6, 5.2 Civil/Architectural Work, B4528, Par. 1. Panic hardware is not listed as a part of necessary items. Do you not need panic hardware for these doors?

As we discussed during the site visit, please include panic hardware (SOW updated).
