MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
FROM: TSgt Bonnie L. Yoakum
SUBJECT: FA4855-16-R-0013 Questions & Answers, Building 2110
1. This is a follow up to the Pre-solicitation Site Visit Minutes. The information below supplies answers/clarifications to questions that were pending.
a. A clarification on whether the window mounted Air Conditioning units, base board heaters, and ceiling/space heaters will be removed has been submitted. The information will be posted when available.
Per paragraph 4.2 of the SOO, the entire HVAC system (wiring and piping is part of the system) shall be removed and this includes the wall and ceiling mounted HVAC equipment. The wall penetrations where the HVAC equipment is currently installed needs to be repaired to match the surrounding material (i.e. block wall needs to be filled with block and grouted, modified and missing ceiling tiles need to be replaced with new ceiling tiles, and penetration between bay walls needs to be filled to meet a 4 hour rated wall). The DDC/EMCS design requirements are outlined in the CAFB DDC requirements guide which is called out by reference in the SOO
b. The facility has asbestos.
The report has been posted; two documents.
c. Bay 2 is currently Division 2. Clarification is being sought on whether it will remain or be reduced to Division 1.
STILL PENDING ANSWER.
d. A mass notification system will be required as it is anticipated that this will exceed 50% of the facility value.
The solicitation is modifying the existing fire detection system and that system should be installed to meet the classification of the room. For design purposes, the modifications to this facility is greater than 50% of the plant replacement value and meeting new design requirements (i.e. UFC 3-600-01, UFC 4-010-01, UFC 3-501-01 and all references included in the contract) shall be met.
4. If any contractor has any questions, they should be submitted no later than 20 April 2016, 1400 MDT.
5. Please let me know as soon as possible if there are any discrepancies or errors contained within. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.
