0026 Resurface Terminal Avenue

RFIs

1. ***CORRECTION *** This RFI (#12) was already posted but the Gov’t response has been revised.

Please confirm that there are no electrical, sidewalks or Bollards included on these projects.

Gov’t Response: The design portion of the project shall confirm the location of electrical and other utilities, if it is found under any portion of project is shall be noted for construction awareness. Design shall determine if sidewalks and/or bollards are required to be repaired/replaced; per the SOO; 2.3.2 improvements to local drainage issues are addressed to include, but not limited to new curb and gutter where required, relocate existing drainage features, and provide new features where required.

2. Please see the following questions for project number: CZQZ12-0505, Repair Parking Lot B192.

Will the Govt. remove the temporary structures located around the building, prior to construction commencing?

Gov’t Response: The Gov’t will remove the structures; will require 3 week notice for coordination.

3. Is it the Govt. intent for the new construction to include new curb and gutter around perimeter?

Gov’t Response: Design shall determine construction actions; per the SOO; 2.3.2 improvements to local drainage issues are addressed to include, but not limited to new curb and gutter where required, relocate existing drainage features, and provide new features where required.

4. Is it the Govt. intent to replace the existing drainage structure?

5. Listed are questions for Repair Parking Lot for Bldg. 58: Can the entire parking area be closed during construction?

Gov’t Response: No, phasing will be required; one parking lot at all times shall remain open.

6. Listed are questions for Project: Resurface Burger King Parking Lot: Is it the Govt. intent to only resurface the Parking Area or to remove/replace and improve drainage issues?

7. Will the business need to remain open during construction or can it close for major construction operations?

Gov’t Response: The business will remain open for the entire duration of the project.

8. Will the existing drive thru for the business be closed during construction?

Gov’t Response: The business will remain open for the entire duration of construction;

phasing shall be applied.

9. Will the existing concrete need to be replaced?

Gov’t Response: The entire parking lot shall be repaired, including concrete work. Design shall determine construction actions; per the SOO; 2.3.2 improvements to local drainage issues are addressed to include, but not limited to new curb and gutter where required, relocate existing drainage features, and provide new features where required.

10. Listed are questions for Resurface Terminal Ave from Air Commando to W. Aderholt: Is it the Govt. intent to just resurface the roadway section or remove/replace?

Gov’t Response: Design shall determine construction actions. Per SOO, Terminal Road is in need of resurface and the intersections need to be brought up to current ASHTO Standards.

11. Can the road be closed at the limits of construction on both ends during construction?

Gov’t Response: No. One lane of traffic shall remain open during construction.
