1. At cavity wall construction, build flashing into masonry construction as indicated on the drawings. Stop flashing 1/4 inch back from outside face of wall and adhere flashing to substrate below.
2. At brick veneer/stud wall construction, extend flashing up behind rigid wall insulation and seal top edge with mastic as shown on the Drawings.
3. At lintels and shelf angles, extend flashing a minimum of 4 inches into masonry at each end. At heads and sills, extend flashing 4 inches at ends and turn flashing up not less than 2 inches to form a pan.
4. Care shall be taken not to puncture flashing material and to keep cavity completely free of mortar droppings. Joints shall be avoided to the maximum extent possible, but where they occur, they shall be lapped a minimum of 6-inches and sealed with the manufacturer’s recommended joint adhesive. All flashing steps and corner turns shall be thoroughly sealed. Gaps in thru-wall flashing or unsealed lapped joints will not be acceptable.
