SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

Questions as of 24 Aug 10:

Sheet E601 One-Line Riser Diagram indicates connecting Panel M and the Chiller to a 400A/3P and 300A/3P breaker in existing Exterior Distribution Panel. Please verify if these breakers are existing spare or new, and if they require mounting hardware.

Sheet E 601 shows that the breakers are new and they will need mounting hardware.

Sheet C101 Site Plan indicates concrete and asphalt cut and patch for the electrical from the building to the chiller. Sheet ES101 indicates to "coordinate with existing utilities and site work." Please verify if concrete and asphalt cut and patch is by the General Contractor or included in the Electrical bid.

This is an issue that is resolved between the General Contractor and the sub-contractors working the project. The Government does not decide these questions.

Is the fire protection system installation to cover the entire building 1st floor and attic or only the remodel areas?

See Keynote 1 on sheet FX101.

Is there wood in the existing attic space? This is unusual that the attic of this building is to be protected with sprinklers.

There is no existing attic space. Attic space is created when new standing seam metal room is installed under this project.

I need to know what the input voltage is and what the output voltage is for the Inverter required for this project.

The input voltage is 208V and the output voltage is 120V.

Need more information regarding the Lighting Inverter referenced on EL101 Note 3 and Section 26 33 23. Input and output voltage, circuited to Panel M?

See answer above. Yes the inverter is connected to panel M.

The shaded C1 fixtures on Sheet EL101 are circuited to LC-1. Where is LC-1? Is a contactor required? Not shown on Panel M schedule. Type C fixtures are shown circuited to LC-2/M-18.

A two pole lighting contactor is required for the exterior lights. LC-1 is Lighting Contactor circuit #1. Reference LC-2 Is circuit #2 on the lighting contactor. Contactor control power is from M-18. Circuit #2 on contactor is powered from M-29.

Can you tell me what the existing exterior distribution panel is? Please send the brand name and what type the existing breakers are so I can quote the new breakers for this panel.

Outside Main panel is Siemens SB1 Rev A. At space for 400 amp breaker is sticker note that the space is for a JXD2 breaker.
Solicitation note #3 calls out a period of performance of 210 days with winter exclusion period from 1 Nov to 15 Apr, shall apply to exterior work only. Does the 210 day period of performance include the winter exclusion period, or is the winter exclusion period in addition to the 210 days?

Winter exclusion is in addition to the 210 days.

Is only the one area note 3 getting a new fire protection system for now?

Rooms 128, 130, 146, and the attic receive a new sprinkler system.

Why is the attic to receive fire protection system? In the past, with noncombustible construction on base they haven't protected the attic space.

No response is required. The contractor shall perform the work as indicated in the construction documents

New Questions as of 25 Aug 10:

Drawing MD101 demolition note 4 references sheet A-201 regarding patching holes left when louvers are removed. These notes and drawing details do not indicate what contractor is responsible to patch the holes. Please clarify.

This is an issue that is resolved between the General Contractor and the sub-contractors working the project. The Government does not decide these questions.

Drawing MD101 demolition notes 7&8 reference sheet A-502 regarding roof penetration patching. These notes and drawing details do not indicate what contractor is responsible to patch the holes. Please clarify.

This is an issue that is resolved between the General Contractor and the sub-contractors working the project. The Government does not decide these questions.

Detail 2E on drawing A-502 references spec section 02 82 14 which is the asbestos specification. Who does the work associated with the roof penetration cutting and patching with regards to the general work and the asbestos concerns? Please clarify.

This is an issue that is resolved between the General Contractor and the sub-contractors working the project. The Government does not decide these questions.

Can you tell me where I can find the specification for the time clock on this project?

a. I do not know what this refers to.

Is the entire attic space to be protected by the dry sprinkler system at this time?

Yes

Is there a use/sales tax on this project?

Contractors will pay sales tax on any materials purchased for this project; tax exempt status will not be conferred.
