General Notes - Demolition Plan 1 Schedule demolition work with the owner to minimize disruption of services and provide for the uninterrupted functioning of the facility.
2 The contractor shall provide all demolition incidental to or required for new and renovation construction whether or not it is specifically noted, including but not limited to, all other work that might reasonably be required to be removed in preparation for specified finishes. Demolition shall be performed in a manner that will not damage any services indicated to remain. Services shall be patched if necessary to provide a suitable sub-strata for new finishes.
3 Remove all items shown as "bold dashed".
4 Debris shall be promptly removed from the building and the site and disposed of in a legal manner.
Surfaces in the construction area shall be maintained in a broom clean condition at the end of each work day.
5 Portions of occupied areas will remain in operation at all times. Security must be maintained at all times. Review security procedures with the owner prior to the start of work.
6 The contractor shall maintain and adhere to all current life-safety and interim life-safety rules and regulations throughout the construction of this project.
7 The contractor shall patch and/or repair any and all surfaces damaged or removed during demolition to match existing surfaces unless surfaces are to receive new finishes or unless noted otherwise.
Refer to and coordinate with structural.
8 Contractor shall inspect existing conditions prior to work. Prior to substantial completion the contractor will repair or clean damaged or dirty surfaces adjacent to project work areas (caused by construction activities) to match original condition.
9 See Electrical for demolition requirements for this discipline.
10 Coordinate all new work involving cutting, welding, sanding, and other processes involving on-site fabrication with 341 MAF CES/Contracting Officer to ensure compliance with base standards and security regulations regarding the generation and containment of dust, gasses, etc. and relocate such processes to the exterior of the building if required.

Lead Paint Notes 1 Lead based paint has been determined by MAFB/MAF to be present at all MAF elevator project locations. Contractor is to proceed with all required work – demolition, new construction, etc. – at all sites accordingly and shall comply with all applicable OSHA and other applicable standards regarding the conductance of the required work in the presence of lead based paint. See Specifications Section 028300 – Lead Based Paint Removal and Disposal – for more information.

6 Existing Cab Sill Track 6" = 1'-0"A2.0
7 Existing Landing Sill Track
Field Verification Notes 1 Prior to the commencement of any Work, ordering, or fabrication, Contractor to visit initial project site and perform a thorough verification of all existing site construction and conditions.
2 Verify all existing sill and guide track conditions at the elevator cab and at each landing, and their relationship to all existing structural components at heads and jambs that are to be used for the connection of all new elevator doors and components.
3 Verify the construction and materials of the elevator cab walls and ceiling.
4 Verify all existing electrical conditions - cab, controls, control panel, traveling cable, etc. - see electrical.
5 Verify all existing elevator control systems - see electrical and coordinate/verify with panel manufacturer (MCE) for full verification of elevator controls, functions, systems, etc.
6 Verify all existing overhead doors, operators, covers, support components, and connections to existing construction.
7 Verify all conditions at the top of the elevator cab including existing hatch, steel components to remain and to be removed, all wiring, boxes, controls, sensors, and relays, and existing steel flanges and components that are to be used for the connection of all new elevator door components.
8 Remove existing coiling door covers and verify connections to existing construction at elevator cab.
9 Verify the exact locations and sizes of all existing structural components that are to remain, and their physical relationship to each other.
