Additional Q&A’s-

5. The insulation items specified under Section 072100 - Thermal Insulation are a more costly type of insulation than that specified under Section 075323 - EPDM Roofing. Is there a defined area of construction where these items are intended to be utilized.

Foil faced is not needed. Go with the Type 2, Class 1, Grade 3 felt or glass-fiber mat facer specified in Section 07523.

6. Work related to Section 072119 - Foamed-In Place insulation is not clearly noted on the drawings or details. What/where is the intended use for this product?

The foam is specified and intended to be used as an option for the Contractor in miscellaneous conditions where using this product would be easier/superior/etc. to other materials - miscellaneous voids, etc.

7. Section 072500 - Weather Barriers (building wrap) indicates the intended use is for application over new sheathing. Is this to be limited to new sheathing and nailers over the top of exterior parapet walls and face of existing mechanical units? Is a unit cost to be provided for other unforeseen locations (as related to question 4)?

Correct, this is the intended installation location for the weather barrier product. A unit cost on this product to cover unforeseen locations would be a good idea to obtain.

8. Two differing methods for installation of the roof insulation are put forth under Section 075323 - EPDM Roofing. Item 2.5 INSULATION ACESSORIES, B. Insulation Adhesives discusses the use of an adhesive application to attach roof insulation. Item 3.4 SUBSTRATE BOARD INSTALLATION, A.1. discusses the mechanical securement of the substrate board. Is it the intent to adhere any replacement insulation in place and mechanically fasten the substrate/cover board through all layers of insulation into the underlying steel deck to achieve the required wind uplift?

Either fastening method is acceptable - as long as the assembly meets the uplift and warranty requirements, etc. per the membrane manufacturer. I frequently see adhered insulation and then mechanically attached substrate board and/or cover board.
