Program Title: Replace VRF at Bldg 503
Contracting Office: 436 CONS/PKA
Solicitation #: FA449719RA032
Subject: Project/TRIRIGA No. 1076659
Summary of Site Visit (if applicable) Two site visits were conducted for this project: one on 17 July 2019 at 1300 and one on 23 July 2019 at 1300.
Question Answer
Please provide as-built drawings for B503. Added. Attached with solicitation attachments.
Scope calls for single zone VAV, please confirm you do not want a dedicated mini-split for the IT room to provide independent temperature control for this space. The single-zone VAV will only have one temperature sensor, and this space will not be controlled as indicated in the SOW.
This is correct, single zone VAV as specified in SOW. Minimal comm equipment in room currently. Ductwork should be sized appropriately for room size and slight equipment load.
SOW states to keep the building at slight positive pressure.
There are existing EFs and other air devices. Please provide information on these EFs so we can size the unit accordingly.
o We also need to confirm the existing ERV is sized properly.
o Should the control system monitor and control the space pressure?
Refer to attached as-builts for fan schedule.
The current E-Stop is not the base standard, should it be changed to the base standard? Yes.
The building controller is an old model and not the base standard. This is going to have to be updated as well. Please confirm this is the intent.
This is the intent to match base standard.
Should existing EFs be integrated into the emergency shutdown sequence as part of this project? This is an ATFP requirement.
Yes
Should all remaining HVAC equipment be tied into the new BAS System, or can the existing space heaters in the warehouse area remain stand-alone?
Leave the warehouse section as stand alone.
The warehouse area has electric unit heaters. We did not observe any control monitoring devices during the site visit.
Does DAFB want this space monitored?
This space does not need to be monitored.
The SOW states that the bathroom in the warehouse is to maintain positive pressure. Is this correct?
This requirement will be waived as mini-splits do not have a feasible option to provide positive pressure without makeup.
Also, we need to know the CFMs for the warehouse bathroom exhaust fan. Confirm that the intent is to guarantee positive pressure in the Warehouse bathroom without the use of terminal VAV equipment (single-zone VAV).
Refer to fan schedule on Mechanical section of as-builts.

1. Striping will be required IF adjusting parking spot locations.
2. This is acceptable. Include desired drawings through design phase.
Per ATFP, do we need to construct a fenced in enclosure with a roof around the exterior equipment? No, Waived
Please confirm full commissioning is required for this project. We need the controls commissioned by control installer and
Will this building be occupied during construction? Yes
Please confirm if rebalancing of this building is required beyond the new equipment.
