Combined Synopsis/Solicitation – FA4427-16-Q-0007

Security Cameras Installation

1. Question: Section 4 explicitly states that any cameras we provide must be compatible with existing controllers. However at no point in the document is there any sign of what their existing system is. Furthermore it also requires programming and integration with existing, unspecified system. Is there a way we can get information on what this system is?

Answer: Section 3.2 states Creston and Panasonic equipment.

2. Question: What exactly is the existing camera system referenced in section 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 etc.

Answer: There are 11 Pansonic Cameras ( 8 of 11 PTZ) controlled by Panasonic and Creston equipment.

3. Question: Section 3.1.1 states “The contractor shall survey buildings 939 and P1 to determine additional electronic controllers required to support the system. The result will be provided to 60 LRS/LGRD project manager and contracting before any installation is started.” Does this mean the need for additional controllers is currently unknown and that there might be a need to purchase and install new controllers?

Answer: Currently Panasonic WJ-MP204C data multiplex and 9003 Optelecom are being used between the fiber and coax. If these products are not available the contractor will have to provide a compatible solution. The coax runs back to a Pansonic WJ-HD616 Digital Disc Recorder with Panasonic WV-CU650 Control Unit and Crestron Pro2, Professional Dual Bus Control System.

4. Question: Section 2.0 specifies that “The contractor shall be responsible for connecting equipment from the terminated fiber ends to the respective required equipment.” Does the base have a preferred media converter model?

Answer: The base do not have a preferred media converter model; however, currently, 9003 Optelecom is installed. New equipment model shall meet the specifications currently being used.

5. Question: Fiber type between P1 and camera location? Link loss measured Fiber count ( IE: 1 per camera and 1 for each control signal) Total distance of fiber run?

Answer: The fiber type is single mode. I do not have total distance of fiber run.

6. Question: Do the camera's require real-time control from P1, or just a video feed to P1? The thought being connecting the cameras to the cargo area recorder, and sending the video feed to P1.

Answer: The cameras requires real time control from P-1.
