Three Fence Solicitation Questions and Answers

Question #6: 'Security Fence Detail C-1' printed off rather poorly. It seems to indicate five foot high chain link fabric with 3 strands of barbed wire on top which will yield a total height of about six foot. It also shows a top rail. Is this really what you want? Typically, we use seven foot high chain link fabric with 3 strands of barbed wire on top for a total height of about eight feet on military installations. Also, we typically use a 7 Ga top tension wire without a top rail. The top rail makes it easier to climb over which defeats the purpose. Please advise.

Answer: The fence fabric is to be six (6) foot, plus 3 strands of barb wire. Top rail is needed.

Question #7: On any of the three sites, can we remove the existing fencing before constructing the new fence? This procedure would leave the base open while the new fence is being installed. If not, can the new fence be constucted a foot or two in from the existing?

Answer: No, new fence must be 100% complete before removing any of the existing fence. Yes, the fence will be located inside the existing fence (within two feet of existing fence).

Question #8: The existing DASR fence is actually seven foot high chain link fabric buried a foot. Will the adjacent neighbor allow us to roll on his property for that difficult removal?

Answer: Yes, once the new fence is 100% installed, we will contact the property owners to access their property.
