Combined Synopsis-Solicitation-FA302222Q0328

Questions & Answers #2

1. Can the Government Verify what size LB Type or Equivalent is required for new conduit entrance to building B1114 is required? Is a 4-inch required? Needs to be 4-inch (bottom) to receive 4-in. PVC duct from new HH, and one – two inch on wall side for new hole/duct into building.

2. Can the Government confirm what type of termination should the contractor provide for the Cassette/Modules for the Fiber Optic Distribution Panels? Are they SC (UPC) connectors? Yes, SC…see 2.2.1.6.

3. There was a discussion during the walk through about the type of Lid that is required for the Hand Holes. Can the Government confirm what type of lid is required? Should be the ‘commercial-grade’ Lid that fits each hand hole and pull box the contractor is providing.

4. Is the contractor allowed to Bore vs. Trenching? Yes. All rules & requirements that fall under any outside construction would still apply. MS811 still must be contacted for official ticket issued.

5. In the statement of objectives PDF in section 2.2.2.2.3 it states that the fiber is running from HH-0318 to B1130. Below that it shows the fiber running from HH-0317 to B1130.

Terminate 12 strand SM FOC in the new 12-port FODP in B1130. It also includes that between HH-0317 to HH-0318 there are 860 feet of fiber. Can the Government just confirm that the fiber footage between HH-0317 to HH-0318 will be included? (1) CORRECTION in the header of 2.2.2.2.3: should read ‘From HH-0317 to B1130’ similar to header’s 2.2.2.2.1 & 2.2.2.2.2. (2) Not sure by what is meant by ‘included’, as stated by Ms. Snow, 14 CONS, at site survey, ALL footages must be confirmed/provided by contractors. The 860’ is only a Gov’t. Estimate. (3) 2.2.2.2.1, 2 & 3 are discussing new work. Unrelated…there is a FOC (unused) between HH0317 & HH0318 that has been identified, at site survey, as a ‘pull rope’ if needed.

6. Does the Government require a specific brand or manufacture for the Hand Holes and Pull Box? No specific brand or manufacture, just the specifics mentioned in SOO.

7. Can the Government confirm the size of conduit that is existing into Building B1130 and whether are not there is Maxcell existing or needs to be installed? As discussed at site survey, it is up to a 2-inch. We agreed that if there is no Maxcell and it would be too difficult to install Maxcell or 1-inch ID, the contractor could just install the FOC w/o duct.
