Air Force Mission Data Set (MDS) Layer List
AICUZAir Installation and Compatible Use Zone (AICUZ)

This Mission Dataset enables planners and decision-makers to manage Air Installation and Compatible Use Zone (AICUZ) challenges across the entire Installation Complex. Map Views are a specific resolution, perspective, or purpose for visualizing the various layers of a Mission Dataset. These views are typically of a functional or operational-specific nature overlaid foundational layers such as the CIP or aerial photography. Map views are formerly known as Tab Maps ICEMAP Installation Complex Encroachment Management Action Plan (ICEMAP) This Mission Dataset enables planners and decision-makers to manage Range operations, and encroachment and sustainment challenges across the entire Installation Complex and Mission Footprint. Map Views are a specific resolution, perspective, or purpose for visualizing the various layers of a Mission Dataset. These views are typically of a functional or operational-specific nature overlaid foundational layers such as the CIP or aerial photography. Map views are formerly known as Tab Maps.

IDP Map Views: Installation Development Plan (IDP) Map Views are a specific resolution, perspective, or purpose for visualizing the various layers of a Mission Dataset. These views are typically of a functional or operational-specific nature overlaid foundational layers such as the legacy CIP Feature Classes. Map views are formerly known as Tab Maps.

Externally Managed Feature ClassesFeature classes in Air Force Mission Data Sets that are managed outside of Air Force and SDSFIE.
Business Table AttributesThe environmental business tables were developed to capture additional information about specific features within a feature class. These attributes were deemed important enough to capture, but may not be relevant to features at all installations and were thus placed in a separate business table rather than the main attribute table.

Data Organizational Structure
GeodatabaseA database that is optimized to store and query data that represents objects defined in a collection of geographic datasets.
Feature DatasetA collection of related features represented in a group of feature classes.
Feature ClassA collection of geographic features with the same geometry type (such as point, line, or polygon), the same attributes, and the same spatial reference.
AttributeNonspatial information about a geographic feature in a GIS, usually stored in a table and linked to the feature by a unique identifier.
Domain Tables (Enumerations)A range or set of codes to restrict field values in a field.
Domain Values (Enumerants)Codes or values that define a set of allowed values for a field.
TableData organized into fields and records; a cell is where a field & record intersect. A table has a specified number of fields, but can have any number of records.
DISDI Definitions
AbstractA brief summary of the feature dataset.
Acceptable ValuesValues defined by the Air Force data owner. To be used in any QA/QC procedures.
AdvocateThe advocate that recommends the attribute's existence in the feature class.
Alias NameThe name of the feature used for display or cartographic purposes.
Attribute NameName of Attribute name as it appears in the 3.1.0 AF Adaptation physical model.
Attribute NameThe name of the element as it appears in the 3.1.0 AF Adaptation physical model.
Business RequirementThe entity model name of the parent entity, if this is a subclass.
CAD Layer EquivalentThe layer in AutoCAD that corresponds to the element in the 3.1.0 Adaptation.
Can subtype?Indicates whether the enumeration can be used to subtype an entity. If this field is YES, then Enumerants that belong to the Enumeration must have the subtypeCodeAlias populated and they must all be unique. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS, the ingest process will automatically assign a serial subtypeCodeAlias for you based on the primary key of the enumerant. If the Is List? is NO then this field must be NO.
Constrained ByThe model name of a constraining enumeration. The enumeration must exist in the parent adaptation or in the Enumerations Extensions tab in this workbook.
Data TypeThe name of the data type for this attribute. Valid types are Integer, Real, Decimal, String, Boolean, Date, DateTime, Time, GUID, or BLOB.
Default GeometryThe primary geometry of the entity and the one that will be used unless overridden in the generation workflow.
Default ValueA value that the attribute will contain in an implementation unless the value is changed by the GIS data manager.
DefinitionThe definition of the entity. Definitions should follow the pattern [Entity Alias Name] is [Entity Definition]. See section 6 of the SDSFIE 4.0 Data Architecture for guidelines on definitions.
DescriptionDescriptions are optional and can include examples and elaboration on the definition.
DISDI GoldIdentifying what is an SDSFIE 3.1 Gold element.
Domain Table NameName of Domain Table as it appears in the 3.1.0 AF Adaptation physical model.
Domain Value NameName of Domain Value as it appears in the 3.1.0 AF Adaptation physical model.
Feature Class NameName of Feature Class as it appears in the 3.1.0 AF Adaptation physical model.
Feature Dataset NameName of Feature Dataset as it appears in the 3.1.0 AF Adaptation physical model.
First VersionFirst Version defines which version was the first time the entity was included in the AF Adaptation.
JustificationThe justification for the new element. If you are providing Business Requirements and/or Requirements documents to support the new element, then this field should describe how those apply to the proposed element. At least one of Justification, Business Requirement #s, or Requirements Document #s must be provided.
Latest VersionLast Version defines which version was the last time the entity was included in the AF Adaptation.
Length/PrecisionThe number of symbols or number of digits in the attribute data type. This cannot be null for data types Real or Decimal. It can be empty for String if the attribute has a constraining enumeration.
Minimum Accuracy StandardThe Minimum Accuracy Standard as a specific grade defined for each feature class.
NoteNotes are optional and are used to describe practical constraints on the entity.
Minimum RequiredDefines the advocate of the minimum requirement.
Permissible GeometriesAll of the permissible geometries for this entity. The default geometry must be in the list.
Primary Key?Indicator of whether the attribute is the primary key attribute in the entity. Each entity must have one primary key. True indicates that the attribute is the primary key of the entity. When isPK is True isNullable must be False.
Real Property EntitySelect YES if this entity represents a real property asset.
Requirements DocumentThe requirements document(s) for the new element represented as a comma-separated list of numbers from the Requirements (Policy) Documents tab. At least one of Justification, Business Requirement #s, or Requirements Document #s must be provided.
ScaleThe number of positions to the right of the radix point in a real number. This value cannot be null when the data type is Real or Decimal
Secondary NameThe secondary name for the entity. This name will be stored in a separate "alternate name mapping" table (not with the Adaptation) and will be related to the adaptation. In PDM generation workflows, this "alternate name mapping" will be accessible as one possibility(the default one) to be used when generating the PDM.
Short NameThe name as it appears in paver or other third party Air Force entity.
Subclass ParentThe entity model name of the parent entity, if this is a subclass.
Subtype Code AliasA long integer that overrides the default subtype code derived from the primary key. This code, when not null, is used when subtyping an entity for implementation.
Subtype?Indicator of whether the attribute is used in defining a subtype for a feature class.

[FeatureName]IDPK is a text attribute 20 Characters in length. The Air Force will use this field to generate a unique primary key. No duplicates are allowed. If the IDPK is a primary or foreign key to other authoritative business data, the key cannot be altered and the feature cannot be deleted without co-coordinating with the functional owner or business line that has a shared relationship with IDPK. It will be the responsibility of both the GIO and the functional business owner to ensure relationship integrity is maintained.
Q: Are SHAPE_Length and SHAPE_Area standard attribution?
A: SHAPE_Length and SHAPE_Area are ESRI-generated fields. The data types are often classified as esriFieldTypeDouble. The SHAPE_Area field is automatically is generated for polygon feature classes and the SHAPE_Length field is automatically generated for line and polygon feature classes.
