Below Fire responses to your questions,

- Section 1.3.4.1.3. It states that the government is going to provide the contractor with Halon 1211 and that we cannot take Halon from our own stock.

Answer-Correct. The AF will provide a Halon tank. We are not allowed to purchase Halon outside DLA channels

- How will PAFB go about supplying / providing us the Halon? Will they deliver the cylinders we need to capture the chemical and also cylinders that contain the new chemical?

Answer-The AF will not deliver the Halon Tank. The tank is located at bldg.. 218 on PAFB. It is the same cylinder that is used for recovery and filling.

- In order to perform the hydrostatic testing/6yr maintenance on the Halon Extinguishers, chemical in tanks must be captured by transferring it to sealed cylinder. Then once the tanks have been hydro testing & dry, we transfer the chemical that was captured back in, plus have to add approximately 20lbs - 30lbs of new Halon 1211. (20 - 30 lbs. on average is typically lost during transfer of high pressure extinguishers).

Answer-Correct

- Section 1.3.4.1.2 - Is PAFB going to provide temporary wheeled Halon extinguishers, so that the existing wheeled extinguishers can be removed for service?

Answer-We have ample spare extinguishers to allow the contractor to service ones needing service. Not all extinguishers can be removed from service at the same time
