About this file
The document is Exhibit D, Section 01025 for Measurement and Payment, associated with the Two Rivers Road Shift Project for Pitkin County, Colorado. This section outlines the detailed payment procedures and bid items for a construction project, specifically describing 16 distinct bid items ranging from mobilization and demobilization to specific infrastructure installations like water and sewer services, conduit installation, asphalt and concrete work, and erosion control. Each bid item includes a description, specific inclusions/exclusions, payment basis (typically per lump sum, linear foot, or square yard), and references to the Town of Basalt Public Works Manual for technical specifications.
The payment terms emphasize that progress payments will be based on the Engineer's assessment of completed work and stored materials, following an approved Schedule of Values. The document provides flexible pricing mechanisms, including provisions for potential unit price renegotiations if actual field measurements differ from estimated quantities by more than 50%. The mobilization bid item, for instance, allows for 75% payment on initial requests with the remaining 25% paid on the final request. The contract also specifies that lump sum prices are intended to cover all materials, equipment, labor, and associated costs for completing each specified work component, with an understanding that bid quantities are estimates and contractors should independently verify actual requirements.

2. Unit pricing shall include all materials, equipment and labor necessary to complete the bid item as shown and indicated in the project documents.
3. Quantities given in the bid form are estimates for the purpose of evaluating bids.
Consequently, some differences may arise in actual and bid quantities.
