Question & Answer Session

If product being used is available via GSA Schedule, is an engineered dynamic analysis for any non-crash tested post spacing required? Project Manager will verify with A/E.

What documentation would be required to determine if a product is considered an approved equal? Project Manager will verify with A/E.

What occurs if vertical elements of the cable barrier system (i.e. intermediate, line crash, and terminal posts) cannot be aligned 100% with fence posts of the existing perimeter fence? Project Manager will consult with GSA Historic personnel for guidance.

mailto:kendrall.masten@gsa.gov

Will a proposal that specifies an alternative system that can be incorporated into the existing perimeter fence be considered? No. Offerors should submit a proposal based on what is in the solicitation. Alternative systems are not being considered at this time.

Does perimeter security (i.e. existing fence) need to be maintained during installation of the proposed cable barrier system? Project Manager and DHS/ICE confirmed that perimeter MUST be maintained during installation of cable barrier system.

Will proposal due date be extended in order to provide adequate responses to questions/clarifications? Yes.

Construction documents specify two (2) bollards at the existing pedestrian gate at the East side of the site. Should three (3) be installed per DHS standards? Project Manager to confirm with A/E.

Clarification was requested on which tree is to be removed? Project Manager instructed the bidders to reference Sheet A1 Architectural Site Plan of the construction documents.

Clarification was requested regarding a dotted line on Sheet A1 Architectural Site Plan of the construction documents near the concrete ramp on the East side of the building. Project Manager instructed the bidders to reference the Sheet C-1 Topographic Survey of the construction documents.

Bidders inquired about the possibility of a staging area within the site's perimeter for materials and equipment (i.e. heavy machinery). The Property Manager said that it might be possible on the East side of the building, but site restoration would be required.
