3. Background. The Government must install a new uninterrupted power supply (UPS) unit with maximum weight of 10,000 pounds in Building 57439B, which is located in the JITC Compound. This requirement necessitates the reinforcement of a section of the modular building’s flooring system to protect its structural integrity so that the new 10,000 pound UPS unit can be placed on a raised floor system.
4. Objectives: Perform reinforcement of the floor system in Building 57439B by providing all labor, design, materials, hardware, tools, to include travel, to complete the project in accordance with (IAW) this PWS.
5. Scope. Building 57439B (a temporary modular building on metal support stands and steel beams) requires reinforcement of the building’s subflooring, raised flooring and foundational supports under a new UPS with a maximum weight of 10,000 pounds. Contractor will comply with common safety standards to include Engineer Manual 385-1-1, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements, and 1910 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The UPS unit will be set on a raised floor that is currently in place, the contractor will provide additional support to raised floor sections so that the load of the new UPS unit can be transferred to the building’s subfloor and down to the buildings foundational supports. The foot print of the new UPS is 4’ x 10’. The UPS can be placed anywhere within a designated 10’x12’area per the attached drawing. The entire 10’ x 12’ area must be reinforced to support the new UPS. This work is to be carried out by a licensed contractor in the state of Arizona. The contractor will provide plans & calculations that are approved by a licensed Professional Engineer that substantiates compliance with these requirements to POC and APOC.
6. Performance Requirements. This project will be carried out in two phases. Phase I will be planning and design. Phase II will be the reinforcement of the floor to accommodate the placement of a new UPS unit that has a maximum weight of 10,000 lbs. The contractor will provide all materials and labor to complete the tasks according to the PWS and per the approved design plan. The contractor will provide plans & calculations that are approved by a licensed Professional Engineer that substantiates compliance with these requirements to POC and APOC. All work will be monitored daily by the government POC/APOC. The project will not be considered finished until all tasks and deliverables are accomplished, and the government POC has inspected and accepted the end product.

The entire 10’ x 12’ area must be reinforced to support the new UPS. Contractor will comply with common safety standards to include Engineer Manual 385-1-1, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Health Requirements, and 1910 Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
