SCOPE: Under this task work order, the Consultant will provide design services. The tasks associated with Design Services can be summarized as follows:

Design Elements:

1. Plans to be prepared in FDOT push-button format, for the design of a new strain pole and span-wire signal system replacing the existing system on the south leg of the intersection of SR-713/Kings Highway at Angle Road in St Lucie County.

2. Prepare signalization, temporary traffic control plans (TTCP), and structural plans for the proposed improvements.

3. Prepare structural calculations for the strain pole signal assembly (strain poles). Project requires removal of the existing wooden strain pole system on the south leg of the intersection. Concrete strain poles with span wire signalization cables will be provided. All other signal infrastructure within the intersection will be left as existing. FDOT to provide existing as-built plans or shop drawings of existing assemblies. FDOT to also provide existing soil parameters for the structural design. Design will assume existing signal operating plan and timing will remain as existing.

4. Prepare TTCP general and phasing notes including lane closure analysis for the proposed improvements.

5. Provide utility coordination, which will include: initial utility contact, utility design meeting with various utilities, reviewing markups and schedules versus SUE information, follow-up with utilities to obtain schedules for utility relocations or No Conflict letters and compiling all utility related correspondence and transmit to FDOT. A utility clearance letter will be provided to the D4 Utility Office for obtaining utility certification.

6. Prepare Utility Location Plan Sheet based on information provided by FDOT Survey.

Designate and locate information to be provided by FDOT in order to clear the proposed mast arm pole locations from utilities. CTS will utilize as much existing information as possible for the design (if applicable) to minimize the need for collection of new data.

2. FDOT to provide geotechnical information for use in designing strain pole - span wire assemblies.

Deliverables:

Initial Submittal – 100% plans for FDOT and Agency Review Final Submittal – Sign and Sealed

Schedule:

Initial submittal within 30 calendar days after receipt of topographic survey, geotechnical information, utility designates, and utility locates.

Final submittal with comments implemented within 15 days of receipt of all comments, implemented test hole data and utility design conference.
