The project is located in Leon County, Florida within the Department owned ROW. This project consists of construction documentation for landscape improvements. Landscape improvements envisioned include planting both within the medians and along outside edge of the road to the edge of right-of-way. The design will be in keeping with previously built portions of Capital Circle both to the east and to the north. These plantings include street trees, shrubs, groundcovers, sod and full irrigation systems. A use of native species will be incorporated whenever feasible. The Department’s budget for landscape improvements will be determined after Phase I plans. This project is programmed for FY 2028 letting with this scope of services being limited to design services through the Phase IV submittal at which time the project would be shelved. A plans update task would be negotiated at a latter date for any services required after Phase IV.

Department provided CAD files in combination with aerial imagery will be utilized as backgrounds for the production of the master plan.

The CONSULTANT will provide data collection, analysis and conceptual design to provide a Phase I level conceptual landscape plan in roll plot format. The landscape plan will provide a vision for landscape improvements along the corridor both within the medians and between the roadway and right-of-way edge. A cost estimate will be prepared based on the Phase I design.

Following the Phase I design, the CONSULTANT will prepare plans for landscape improvements. The objective is to design landscape improvements that meet applicable FDOT safety and setback criteria, are appropriate to the location, are easy to maintain, and are coordinated with the maintenance capabilities of the maintaining agency and FDOT.

The CONSULTANT will perform soil and percolation testing based on the planting areas identified in the conceptual design.

The prior roadway project cleared and grubbed the full right-of-way. Selective Clearing and Grubbing plans is not required and will not be included.
