About this file

This document is a Task Work Order Amendment Form from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), involving Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. as the consultant. The amendment is for Continuing Services for Project Design under Contract No. CAO31, specifically related to Task Work Order No. 3 for the resurfacing, rehabilitation, and restoration (3R) project of SR 704 / Royal Palm Way from Four Arts Plaza to S. County Rd.

The amendment details the removal of remaining lighting design analysis and plans production services for Activities 23 and 24. The existing lighting system will remain, with potential lighting retrofits to be evaluated at signalized intersections to meet pedestrian illumination criteria. The total task work order amount is decreased by $19,331.33, reducing the basic services from $317,285.71 to $297,954.38. The amendment stipulates that if the Town of Palm Beach desires decorative lighting instead of standard FDOT light poles, a local funding agreement would need to be established prior to incorporating such design elements.

The resurfacing, rehabilitation, and restoration (3R) of SR 704 / Royal Palm Way from Four Arts Plaza to S. County Rd

I. PURPOSE

The purpose of this Supplemental Amendment No. 1 is to describe the omission of remaining efforts of the CONSULTANT on Lighting analysis and plans.

II. SERVICES TO BE OMITTED BY THE CONSULTANT

Under this Amendment, the Consultant shall remove the remaining lighting design analysis and plans production services for Activities 23 and 24. The services rendered under these tasks include field review, identification of existing load center, initial coordination and meetings with Town of Palm Beach and the DEPARTMENT on decorative lighting preference and options, the required local funding agreement, as well as wildlife lighting criteria on restriction limits.

A. Specific Items of Work:

The Consultant shall omit the remaining design services for Activities 23 and 24 from the original basic services as described below:

6. Lighting (Activities 23 & 24)

a. Existing lighting system is to remain. Lighting retrofits to be evaluated at signalized intersections along the corridor to conform to FDM 231.3.2.1.

criteria for pedestrian illumination.

b. The lighting along the corridor is decorative lighting. However, FDOT standard light pole, if needed, will be proposed. If the Town desires a decorative lighting instead of FDOT’s standard, the Town is to make a request to the FDOT. A local funding agreement between FDOT and the Town of Palm Beach would have to be put in place prior to considering decorative lighting in design analysis and contract document.
