About this file
This document is an Authorization of Optional Services letter for a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4, involving a segment of Interstate 95 from North of 6th Avenue South to North of SR 704/Okeechobee Boulevard in Palm Beach County. The contract is between FDOT and AECOM Technical Services, Inc., with the specific Letter of Authorization (LOA) #1 being issued on August 22, 2024, under Contract No. CAN90 and Financial Project ID 444202-2-22-02.
The optional services authorization provides additional funding of $194,019.61 for extending the project timeline by 7 months due to survey delays. The services include Project Management (attending additional progress meetings, providing schedule updates, coordinating with other consultants), Public Involvement (reviewing and coordinating collateral materials in English and Spanish), and Engineering Analysis (performing comprehensive traffic operational analysis using SYNCHRO and VISSIM software). The analysis covers existing and future traffic conditions, including No-Build and Build scenarios for Opening Year 2030, Mid-Design Year 2040, and Design Year 2050, with detailed examination of mainline, ramps, and intersection performance. The total project hours for these additional services are 1,085, with the work to be completed using rates specified in the original contract.
