About this file

This is a Change Order Notice issued by the Chief Procurement Office for General Services in Illinois for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) regarding the AML 2246 Brierly project. The change order pertains to engineering and design work being conducted on five reclamation projects under contract P-64257. The contractor is continuing reclamation engineering and design services across all five project sites, with no additional sites being added to the scope of work. No changes to the contract completion date are included in this modification.

The change order increases the contract cost by $46,000.00, which exceeds the $25,000 threshold requiring public posting on the Bulletin/BidBuy for 14 days. The cost increase is attributed to additional hazards and problems identified at two of the five project sites following contract initiation, as well as an inadequate initial cost estimate provided by the Abandoned Mined Lands Reclamation Division (AMLRD). Approval of this change order is necessary to ensure timely completion of all five reclamation projects; without it, project completion would be delayed by several additional years. The contractor must remain consistent throughout the design completion phase due to continuity requirements and project complexity.

BBREFNO.: 27-422DNR-MINES-B-53493
thedetails: This change order will add $46,000.00 to the current contract on P-64257. No dates are changing. This contractor is conducting engineering and design work on five reclamation projects. Two of these projects have resulted in additional hazards and problems that need to be addressed, thus increasing the cost. Also the initial estimate determined by AMLRD was inadequate. Reclamation engineering and design has begun for all of the five projects and needs to continue under this specific contractor until the design is completed. No additional sites will be added to the list of proposed work. If this change order is not approved, these five projects will not be completed in a timely manner and will add additional years to the reclamation project.
