About this file

This is a Certification Regarding Investments in Iran document issued by the State of Maryland under the authority of State Finance & Procurement Articles 17-701 through 17-707. The certification applies to all contractors bidding on or renewing contracts with Maryland state agencies and public bodies. The document establishes eligibility requirements based on investment activities in Iran, specifically prohibiting participation by companies identified on the Investment Activities in Iran list maintained by the Board of Public Works, as well as their parent companies, successors, subsidiaries, and entities under common ownership or control.

The certification requires authorized representatives to attest that their company is not identified on the Investment Activities in Iran list and is not engaging in investment activities in Iran as defined by state law. Investment activities in Iran are defined as either providing goods or services of at least $20 million in Iran's energy sector or, for financial institutions, extending credit of at least $20 million for at least 45 days to persons on the list for use in Iran's energy sector. The certification applies only to new contracts and contract renewals; existing contracts with listed companies are not required to be terminated. Contractors unable to make the required certification must explain their investment activities in the designated section of the form and provide signature and witness verification.
