Safety Specifications for Landscaping Services

This document is a Safety Specifications exhibit prepared by the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) for a landscaping services contract in California. The specifications outline comprehensive safety requirements and standards that all bidders and contractors must comply with throughout the performance of landscaping work. The exhibit establishes mandatory safety protocols, equipment standards, and operational procedures designed to protect workers, the public, and the work environment during all landscaping activities. These specifications apply to the one-year landscaping services contract with a budget of $354,050 and serve as binding requirements for contract performance and worker protection.

The safety specifications detail requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard identification and communication, safe work practices, equipment operation and maintenance standards, and incident reporting procedures. Contractors are required to maintain compliance with all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and California state safety regulations throughout contract performance. The specifications establish that OCTA retains the authority to conduct safety inspections and audits at any time during contract performance. Non-compliance with these safety requirements may result in work stoppage, corrective action requirements, or contract termination. As this is a prevailing wage contract, all safety requirements must be maintained alongside wage and labor standard compliance.
