About this file

This document is Bid Amendment #2 – Questions and Answers #2 for an Invitation for Bid issued by the State of Illinois for DAT Home Kennels, identified as BidBuy Bid #26-493ISP-ADMIN-B-49291. The amendment addresses clarifications and specifications related to the procurement of home kennels.

The amendment clarifies three key requirements for vendor bidding: (1) chain link fencing on the exterior of kennels and pre-hung entry doors to the interior must be included in all quotes, while food and water bowls/buckets are not required; (2) kennels must be delivered completely assembled and ready for placement on ground without requiring a concrete foundation or on-site assembly labor; and (3) delivery will occur without obstructions, allowing vendors to place assembled kennels directly at designated locations. These clarifications establish that vendors should quote for fully assembled units with specified components rather than kit-form deliveries requiring field assembly.

Question

I am working on the above referenced bid and would like to know on another notes, the new pictures we received as an addendum show welded wire, a pre-hung entry door, and food & water bowls/buckets. None of these options are included in the Scope of Work for the quote. Should these options be quoted or not?

Answer

Yes, the chain link fencing on the exterior kennel must be included in the quote. Also, the pre-hung entry door to the interior must be included in the quote. Food and water bowls/buckets do NOT need to be included in the quote.

Question

Also, if the kennels can be delivered completely assembled or if they are required to be assembled on site? All of our structures are typically delivered completely assembled and placed on a foundation that is prepared by the customer. The scope of work states “ Vendor will be responsible for delivery and complete set up and assembly of each kennel.” The cost increases significantly if we need to quote a crew to come and assemble all of the kennels on site. even though they are already assembled and just need to be placed at the spot you provided. Please let me know so we can proceed further, thank you.

The kennels must be delivered completely assembled. No concrete foundation is necessary. The home kennel will be placed directly on the ground.

Question

We are working on this bid. Typically these would be delivered assembled and put in place where desired. The only time it would need to be sent in a kit and unassembled is if there is a gate or an obstruction preventing the delivery man to enter while placing the kennel in the desired spot. Do you know if all of these Kennels could be delivered assemble and put in place?

Yes, these kennels must be delivered assembled and put in place. There will be no obstructions during delivery.
