About this file

This document is Bid Amendment #1 for an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the State of Illinois for DAT Home Kennels. The bid number is 26-493ISP-ADMIN-B-49291 and was posted on BidBuy. The amendment consists of questions and answers addressing clarifications requested by potential bidders regarding the bid specifications and requirements.

The contract covers the design and construction of home kennels with specific technical requirements. Each kennel unit consists of approximately 6 feet by 4 feet interior and 6 feet by 4 feet exterior space, with an overall structure height of approximately 9 feet. Key specifications include insulated doors with keyed latches, R-13 batten insulation in walls and ceiling with R-13 spray foam insulation on the floor, and PVC Trusscore or comparable water-resistant interior finishes. The feed room is located on the interior but outside the interior fencing, serving as a storage area for food and equipment accessible from the entry door. The exterior utilizes chain link fencing with an entry gate. Roof pitch and shingle color are not specified but should be comparable to provided example pictures. The structure requires no concrete base or gravel foundation. The amendment indicates no preference regarding whether vendors manufacture units pre-made or construct them on-site.

Bid Amendment #1 – Questions and Answers #1 (con’t)

No.
Questions and Answers
1
Question

Interior – is this 6x8 ft floor plan?

Answer

This would be the entire kennel, indoor and outdoor. So approximately 6x4 interior and 6x4 exterior

2
Question

Is there a layout of the inside where the feed station needs to be? Any shelving? Is the feeding station built into the wall?

The feed room would be on the interior of the kennel, outside of the interior fencing. The area from the entry door to the interior fencing gate would be the feed area (a place to store food and other equipment). No shelving is required in the feed area and the feed area is not built into the wall.

PVC Trusscore, or comparable product, interior finish, which is water resistant and easy to clean. See updated IFB Section 1.2.

9
Question

Do you expect the vendor to buy these pre-made? Or make them? Does it matter?

No preference

10
