About this file
Vendor Demonstration Script Summary
This document is a vendor demonstration script for the State of South Carolina's procurement of Data Center Infrastructure Management Software under Solicitation #5400026214. The demonstration is structured as a 180-minute live presentation with a maximum time allocation that encompasses vendor company overview (10 minutes), detailed product presentation (130 minutes), and questions and answers (40 minutes). Vendors must demonstrate specific functionality across nine major categories: system references and customer base, system platform components including real-time alerts and virtualized environments, system security features with multifactor authentication and logging capabilities, visualization and dashboard displays, symbols and templates for data center devices, inventory management functions, daily operations capabilities, planning and forecasting tools, and monitoring and reporting features. The demonstration must showcase the proposed product version exactly as described in the vendor's written RFP response, with no demonstration of unavailable functionality permitted.
Vendors are required to bring all necessary equipment for live demonstrations with standard HDMI connectivity capability and must provide the URLs of any websites needed for their presentation at least ten business days prior to the scheduled demonstration date. Presenters must include key personnel capable of executing the demonstration and answering comprehensive questions about the solution and company operations. Two USB drives containing the presentation materials must be submitted to the evaluation panel. The demonstration venue will provide projection capability and secured wireless internet connectivity, though certain websites will be blocked; therefore, vendors should anticipate potential connectivity limitations for cloud-based solutions and plan accordingly. The script emphasizes that vendors cannot reference or demonstrate any system version different from the one proposed to the State of South Carolina.

Instructions: Please demonstrate the items below from your proposed product. You may not demonstrate or refer to any functionality or capability that will not be present in the product version represented in your written response to the RFP.)
A. Indicate which other states and large commercial data center providers who are using the version of the product you are proposing to the State of South Carolina.
i. Three (3) examples of each will suffice.
ii. For the purposes of this demonstration, you may not use as references entities using a different version of the product than the one you are proposing to the state.
B. System Platform The purpose of this part of the demonstration is for you to show the required components of proposed system’s platform.
i. Show that the proposed solution is comprised of an integrated suite of tools.
ii. Show system and device alerts, alarms, and notifications in real time.
iii. Show how a user would create a custom alert based on a system event the user defines. Demonstrate the custom alert working.
iv. Demonstrate the virtualized environment or, if a SaaS, the cloud-hosting environment.
1. If cloud-based, demonstrate that system alerts and notifications function if internet connectivity to the cloud is unavailable.
2. If this is to be hosted in the Vendor’s cloud environment, demonstrate how that environment meets the FEDRAMP moderate requirements.
v. Demonstrate that the client user interface is fully operational on current Windows desktop operating systems.
vi. Demonstrate that the solution database is an SQL database.
vii. Show the API environment for integration into third party systems.
viii. Import an AutoCAD drawing into the system.
ix. Export a floorplan from the system into AutoCAD format.
x. Use the system search function to find a specific device in the system using search properties that the state team provides to you during the demonstration.
C. System Security The purpose of this part of the demonstration is for you to show the system’s security features.
i. Perform a system logon using multifactor authentication.
ii. Create user accounts in the system.
1. Create an administrator-level user and a standard user within the system. Demonstrate how the different permissions levels provide different levels of access.
2. Demonstrate that a user is able to access user functionality within all the system modules (excluding the security module) with a single logon.
3. Demonstrate how to deactivate an account without deleting it.
iii. Show how to obtain technical support. Demonstrate that technical support is
NOT provided by off-shore resources.
iv. Demonstrate system logging.
1. Show system logging in real time.
2. Show how to configure logging for system events and activities.
3. Show how to export logs to an SIEM device.
v. Discuss the supply chain for the system.
1. Where are component parts manufactured?
2. Where is the system development performed and tested?
3. What supply chain risk management processes and controls have been implemented?
D. Views and Displays Please demonstrate the views and visualization capabilities of your product.
i. Show how alerts, alarms, and notifications are displayed on the one-line diagrams, floorplans, and inventory plan views.
ii. Demonstrate adding a device to the status dashboards from both the floorplan view and from the inventory plan view.
iii. Demonstrate the functionality and capabilities of the various dashboard views that are available in the product.
iv. Show how colors are used in the dashboards and other views to demonstrate status of items in the floorplan, one-line, and inventory plan views.
v. Demonstrate the product’s ability to highlight the entire connectivity chain from source to destination within the managed space.
vi. Demonstrate the various views available from complete building to individual component while showing the various “zoom levels” in between.
vii. Show displays of power use by component in one of the system views and in one of the power connection chain views.
viii. Show how the displays represent the actual scale of the floorplan and the devices in the managed space.
E. Symbols and Templates This portion of the demonstration will provide evidence of the system’s use of icons, symbols, and templates.
i. Exhibit the system’s prebuilt library of data center infrastructure device symbols.
ii. Demonstrate cloning of an icon/symbol and modification of clone’s configuration criteria.
iii. Show how to set up a symbol for monitoring.
iv. Demonstrate how a symbol or icon is configured based on the device it represents.
F. Inventory This part of the demonstration will display the operation and function of the inventory capabilities of the solution.
i. Show a hierarchical, graphical view of the inventory.
1. Show the impact of removing an item from the inventory and of how that impact is reflected across the various views and displays the system provides.
2. Sow the impact of adding an item into the inventory.
ii. Add custom fields to the inventory database.
iii. Demonstrate how the system is able to track a device’s deployment history through its lifecycle from an asset management perspective.
iv. Import an Excel spreadsheet with data into the inventory management database.
v. Export an inventory management report
1. Product one into an Excel spreadsheet.
2. Produce one into a comma-delimited file format.
G. Operations
Daily operational use of the system will be the focus of this portion of the demonstration.
