About this file
This is a certification document from the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) regarding commissioner and employee conflicts of interest for an on-call tree removal contract in Charleston. The certification, dated September 9, 2020, requires contractors and consultants to confirm compliance with Section 57-1-350(G) of the South Carolina Code of Laws. The document establishes that no member of the SCDOT Commission may have any direct or indirect interest in the proposal, bid, or resulting contract during their term of appointment and for one year following termination. This restriction extends to all subcontractors, consultants, vendors, suppliers, employees, and agents involved in the project.
The certification must be executed by an authorized representative of the contractor or consultant as a condition precedent to contract execution and remains an ongoing obligation throughout the contract term. The signatory must certify on behalf of their organization that all parties involved in the project will comply with the conflict of interest provisions outlined in the state statute. This document serves as a compliance mechanism to ensure the integrity of the procurement and award process while maintaining ethical standards regarding SCDOT officials' involvement in contracts and related benefits granted through the project.
