About this file
The provided document is a reference guide for City Acronyms and Terminology for the City of Englewood, specifically associated with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) procurement opportunity. The document includes comprehensive lists of acronyms and terms used within the city's human resources and administrative functions, covering areas such as employee classifications, benefit enrollment processes, work schedules, insurance providers, and technology systems.
The terminology guide provides detailed definitions for key concepts like Active and Passive Enrollment, which outline how employees select and confirm benefits, and explains various work schedule configurations (8x5, 9/80, 4/10). It also identifies current vendors like CIRSA (workman's compensation) and Unum (insurance provider), and clarifies internal classifications such as Secondary Job and job classification/compensation leveling.
