About this file

This document is Attachment B to Contract 1-19-58-70, a detailed technical specification for a Wireless Mobile Video Audio Recording System (WMVARS) for the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The contract appears to be between the CHP and an unnamed vendor for an integrated in-car and body-worn camera solution designed to meet specific law enforcement technology requirements.

The WMVARS specification outlines comprehensive technical requirements for hardware components including in-car cameras, body-worn cameras, wireless microphones, central processing units, and associated accessories. Key specifications include high-resolution video recording (720p), GPS tracking, encrypted data storage, multiple recording activation methods, metadata capture, wireless connectivity standards (802.11AC, Bluetooth), and robust performance specifications such as operating within temperature ranges of 4°F to 140°F, battery life of at least 10 hours, and secure data management. The system must support features like pre-event recording, automatic upload capabilities, chain of custody documentation, and centralized configuration by authorized administrators. The on-premise appliance is required to store 30 days of video with a minimum 100 TB storage capacity, and the solution must integrate seamlessly with existing CHP vehicle and technology infrastructure.
