About this file
This file is an abstract submission template and instruction document for DARPA-PA-26-05, the Mathematics of Boosting Agentic Communication (MATHBAC) program. The template is mandatory for all abstract submissions and must be accompanied by Attachment A (Abstract Summary Slide Template) to constitute a complete submission. All submissions must be in English, formatted for 8.5 by 11-inch paper with 1-inch margins and minimum 12-point font, though figures and tables may use 8 or 10-point font. Abstracts are limited to a maximum of two pages, excluding cover sheets, tables of contents, bibliographies, and up to three optional technical papers.
The abstract must include five required sections: Goals and Impact (describing the proposal's qualitative and quantitative benefits and innovative aspects); Technical Approach (addressing the scientific sub-domain, experience with foundation models and agentic platforms, proposed mathematical and systems theory leveraging, novelty compared to existing work, and generalizability); Capabilities/Management Plan (identifying the principal investigator, team organization, and personnel expertise); Cost and Schedule (providing resource estimates and subawardee costs broken down by contractor fiscal year); and Bibliography (up to two pages of references with links). The cover sheet requires submission of prime organization logo, abstract title, topic area selection (TA1 or TA2), technical and administrative points of contact, team member information, estimated total cost, period of performance, and identification of other solicitations receiving the same concept. All abstracts must be received by DARPA by the due date specified in the Overview Information section and should be marked as UNCLASSIFIED or Controlled Unclassified Information with appropriate proprietary markings.

Goals and Impact [Describe what is being proposed and what difference it will make (qualitatively and quantitatively) if successful. Describe the innovative aspects of the project in the context of existing capabilities and approaches, clearly delineating the relationship of this work to any other projects from the past and present.] Technical Approach [Provide answers to the following questions:
· What is your scientific sub-domain?
· What is your experience with foundation/small science models, agents, agentic platforms for science discovery? Please provide relevant reference, when available.
· What mathematical theory, systems theory, information theory, data science tools, do you propose to leverage/derive in order to drive progress in your selected Technical Area?
· What is new in your approach, and why will it be successful compared to current (Agentic Platforms for TA1, Disentanglement/Principle Discovery for TA2) work?
· How do you expect your work to generalize (to other problems, other science sub-domains)?
Capabilities/Management Plan [While teaming arrangements do not need to be finalized at the time of abstract submission, mention of potential teaming/collaboration arrangements is highly encouraged. Identify a principal investigator for the project and include a description of the team’s organization. ]
· Provide a brief summary of the expertise of the team, including subawardees, key personnel, and their roles in the proposed technical approach Cost and Schedule [Provide a cost estimate for resources (e.g. labor, materials) and any subawardees over the entire program (base + options), broken down by Contractor Fiscal Year] Bibliography [A brief (no more than 2 pages) bibliography may be provided with links to relevant papers, references, reports, etc.]
