JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON CAD / GIS RECORD DRAWING AS-BUILT
STANDARD
1.0 Record Drawing as-built Deliverables
A. General Requirements: The purpose of this standard is to identify the use of CAD/GIS standards by contractors for Record Drawing As-built deliverables. The intent is to not to provide specific guidance to a contractor on execution but to identify the format of the Record Drawing As-built. The AutoCAD deliverables shall be developed according to the latest release of The CAD BIM Technology Center A/E/C CAD Standard ERDC/ITL TR-12-X published by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center at 3909 Halls Ferry Road Vicksburg, MS 39180-6199. This publication is available at https://cadbimcenter.erdc.dren.mil. The following are specific Air Force requirements and if there is a conflict between the A/E/C CAD standard and the Air Force requirements then the Air Force requirements shall take precedence. Clarification on the A/E/C CAD standard shall be addressed thru the Air Force Project Manager. GIS/GPS requirements are shown in paragraph 3.
2.0 As-Built:
A. Electronic submittals: All DWG's shall be developed and saved by software that is licensed by Autodesk. As-built shall be delivered in an editable Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 or earlier version to include all support files and an Adobe PDF. Assemble project electronic files into a Microsoft Windows folder structure as illustrated in Figure 1. Submit all electronic files on a CD-R. Label the CD-R with a CD/DVD label; include a minimum of project number, project title, As-built date.
1. AutoCAD deliverables:
a. File templates: The Government shall provide AutoCAD border sheet templates for development of project drawings. The border sheet template shall be inserted into the sheet layout as a block.
b. Drawing sheet assembly: Drawing Sheet assembly shall be arranged as prescribed in ERDC/ITL TR- 12-X, FIGURE 2-1, however, the border sheet shall be inserted as a block into the sheet file. Create only one layout per AutoCAD file, that is, each project sheet corresponds to a single unique dwg.
c. File naming conventions: The AEC Sheet File name is the unique name of each individual AutoCAD project Model and Sheet File as prescribed in ERDC/ITL TR-12-X figures 2-2 and 2-3 respectively.
Ensure the Sheet File name is shown in the title block as the “AEC Sheet File Name”. See Government supplied templates.
d. External References: External References shall be bounded.
e. Civil plans: All Civil Plan Views shall be geospatially referenced, with an accuracy of 0.5 meters or better, using the Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) meters coordinate system, World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84) datum. Model space geometry shall not be scaled from original 1:1 or subsequently moved after being geo-spatially located.
f. Miscellaneous:
1. Model space geometry shall be drawn 1:1.
2. Text shall be true type font Arial and Arial Bold.
3. 1/8” (3 mm) text height shall be used for dimensions, notes, callouts, table/schedule text and general text on full size drawings.
