Statement of Work: Replace Staircase Primary Generator
PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
A. Supply, deliver and install a diesel prime generator, diesel fuel tank, battery storage vault and inverter to be used for the primary electrical power system at the Staircase Rapids area of Olympic National Park (OLYM). OLYM will provide the concrete pad for the diesel fuel tank next to the existing generator building. The contractor is to:
a. Install the prime generator inside the existing generator building
b. Install a battery storage vault and invertor inside the generator building to power the local grid during the evening.
c. Build all necessary fuel and electrical connections between generator, battery, inverter, and fuel tank for generator system to function and tie into Staircase grid
d. Provide one day of training and familiarization to park staff
B. Delivery Location and Instructions:
a. Delivery is to be made at:
Staircase Overflow Parking at Staircase Ranger Station
Hoodsport, WA 98548
b. Exact Coordinates: 47.51546, -123.32739 (maps attached)
C. Delivery days and hours.
a. Delivery shall be performed between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through
Friday.
b. No weekend or Federal Holiday delivery will be allowed without prior approval.
c. Olympic National Park does not have a loading dock at the delivery location.
d. Contact Keith Robinson to arrange delivery at least 72 hours prior to delivery.
D. Delivery Lead Time. Government’s anticipated delivery lead time is 60 to 120 days
ARO. Delivery lead time shall be stated in quote.
E. Warranty. Government preference is a minimum 12 month full replacement period and limited 24 months pro-rated warranty. Warranty period(s) shall be stated in quote.
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Submittals. Submit electronic cut sheets and required documentation in PDF format. The following submittal list is provided as an aid, if a submittal is required in the specifications but not on this list, it is still required.

2. Generator Warranty: Submit with quote
3. Generator Operations Manual: Provide with equipment delivery
4. Battery Storage Vault Specifications Cut Sheet: Submit with quote
5. Battery Storage Vault Warranty: Submit with quote
6. Battery Storage Vault Manual: Provide with equipment delivery
7. Invertor Specifications Cut Sheet: Submit with quote
8. Invertor Warranty: Submit with quote
9. Invertor Manual: Provide with equipment delivery
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 GENERATOR SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The following salient features in A through E that will be evaluated to determine that the product specified in quote meets these features for technical acceptability:
A. Generator Salient Features
1. Prime Rating between 25 to 35 kW
2. Produce a voltage of 120/240 single phase at 60Hz
3. Sound Enclosure
4. Block Heater
5. Battery and Battery Charger
6. Include a manufacturer’s side inlet, end outlet silencer with flex exhaust attachment to the generator and exhaust to outside of building
7. Load Balancer: Generator assist for low load conditions.
8. Emergency Stop Button.
9. Low Coolant Level Automatic Shutdown.
10. Instrument Panel Indicates or has automatic shutdown capability for:
a. Oil Pressure.
b. Coolant Temperature.
c. AC Voltage Meter.
d. Frequency Meter.
e. Engine Speed Tachometer.
f. Engine Hours.
11. Maximum Dimensions:
a. Length ≤ 90 inches.
b. Width ≤ 44 inches.
c. Height ≤ 48 inches.
12. Skid Mounted System.
13. Warranty: 1 year or 2,000 hours.
B. Diesel Fuel Tank Salient Features
1. Above Ground
2. 1,000-gallon capacity
3. Secondary Containment built into unit
4. Warranty: 1 year
C. Inverter Salient Features
1. Provide Continuous AC Power from the batteries at 12,000W 50A-L (240V)
2. Provide continuous AC Power with the generator 24,000W 200A L-N (120V)
3. Have an output power of 15 kW
4. Warranty: 1 year
D. 18.5 kWH Lithium Battery Vault Salient Features
1. 360 Ah capacity
2. 51.2 (48) nominal voltage
3. Voltage range of 46-56
4. Recommended charge current of 100 A
5. Max discharge current of 180 A
6. Charge and discharge temperature of 32-113 F
7. Have a UL 1642 certificate
8. Have an enclosure protection rating of IP21
9. Be a floor standing unit
E. Approved Products
1. No specific generator identified
2. ConVault 1,000-gallon diesel storage tank or approved equal
3. Sol-Ark 15K-2P-N inverter or approved equal
4. Fortress Power eVault 18.5 Lithium Batter Storage or approved equal
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 Product Delivery and Handling
A. Delivery of Materials
1. Materials shall be delivered in the manufacturer’s original, new unopened containers bearing manufacturer’s recommendations.
2. Related miscellaneous items shall be delivered with proper identification labeling.
