About this file

This attachment outlines enhanced service specifications for Group Care Intensive Services targeting seriously mentally ill juveniles under South Carolina's Residential Services for Children contract opportunity. The services are designed for juveniles who require intensive-level care but do not meet the criteria for Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) placement. Key service enhancements include a reduced staff-to-student ratio of 1:3 compared to the standard 1:5 ratio, three individual sessions with Health Services Personnel (HSP) rather than two, and educational services tailored to meet each juvenile's specific needs.

Staff providing these services must be trauma-informed and specially trained to work effectively with seriously mentally ill juveniles to support their success in care. The service modifications are designed to achieve cost savings for the state by maintaining juveniles at the intensive level of care within a group care setting rather than escalating them to emergency room services or PRTF placement. All other services must comply with South Carolina's State Standards for Residential Services at the Intensive Level of Care. No pricing terms, set-asides, funding amounts, or contract timeline information is specified in this attachment.

ATTACHMENT 10

Group Care Intensive Services – Seriously Mentally Ill
