About this file

This is Appendix A to a Request for Statement of Qualifications (RFSQ) issued by the County of Los Angeles, Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, seeking qualified Forensic Pathologists to enter into Master Agreements for as-needed pathology services. The Department requires qualified physicians to perform forensic pathology services in support of its core mission to inquire into and determine the cause, manner, and circumstances of unnatural, suspicious, unusual, violent, sudden, and unattended deaths. Successful applicants will be added to a pool of eligible contractors available to perform post-mortem examinations and related pathology services on an as-needed basis to support death investigations involving examination, laboratory testing, and cause-of-death determination.

The appendix establishes qualification requirements and evaluation criteria for forensic pathologists seeking inclusion in the Department's contractor pool. Compensation, pricing terms, and specific contract amounts are determined through individual agreements negotiated with qualified contractors selected from the eligible pool. The Department anticipates maintaining an ongoing roster of qualified forensic pathologists available for emergency and non-emergency death investigations, with contractors compensated on a per-case or hourly basis as services are requested.
