About this file

Summary of Appendix C: Secure and Verifiable Documents

Appendix C is a supporting document for a landscape maintenance services contract opportunity with the City of Norcross, Georgia, outlining the acceptable forms of identification for verification purposes under O.C.G.A. 50-36-2. The document lists 16 categories of secure and verifiable documents that may be used for identification purposes, though these documents do not necessarily indicate residency or immigration status. Acceptable documents include United States passports, military identification cards, state-issued driver's licenses from compliant states, tribal identification cards, permanent resident cards, employment authorization documents, foreign passports, maritime credentials, and various trusted traveler cards such as FAST, NEXUS, and SENTRI cards. Notably, driver's licenses from Alaska, Idaho, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, Utah, and Washington are not currently acceptable due to non-compliance with immigration verification requirements prior to issuance, with Maryland and Massachusetts pending review.

The document also provides provisions for federal law requirements, specifying that any documents or forms of identification required by federal law for administering public benefits or programs shall be deemed secure and verifiable documents solely for those particular programs or administrations. This appendix serves as a reference standard for personnel involved in the Norcross landscape maintenance services contract, which is a five-year agreement with automatic renewals for citywide landscape maintenance including grass cutting, mulching, irrigation, seasonal plantings, and pest control services, with proposals due October 30, 2026.
