About this file

This is a Logic Model document for the Sexual and Reproductive Health Program (SRHP) developed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). The model outlines a comprehensive framework designed to prevent unintended pregnancies and support families in safe, healthy communities through clinical care and community resources. The program's primary goal is to increase client autonomy around reproductive choices while reducing unintended pregnancy rates and sexual health inequities. Key activities include providing comprehensive, client-centered, non-coercive clinical services; conducting outreach and marketing to priority populations; establishing community and clinical linkages through referral networks; implementing training in reproductive and racial justice; offering patient navigation and case management; and promoting quality improvement processes across the service delivery network. The model addresses short-term outcomes (1-11 months), intermediate outcomes (1-3 years), and long-term outcomes (3+ years), with expected deliverables including standardized protocols and guidelines, community education sessions delivered in non-traditional settings, clinical quality assurance and data reporting, and the development of public information resources.

The SRHP Logic Model is supported by multiple inputs including MDPH program staff expertise, trained clinical and community-based staff, training and technical assistance providers, data system infrastructure, clinic facilities with required and optional sexual and reproductive health services, medications and medical supplies, successful evidence-based models and strategies rooted in reproductive justice and client-centered care, and established community partnerships through coalitions, community-based organizations, and referral networks. Key outcomes focus on decreasing STI and HIV incidence, reducing barriers to service access, increasing equitable payment models for sexual and reproductive health services, expanding preconception care and infertility services, and creating a coordinated community of practice among Massachusetts sexual and reproductive health providers. The program emphasizes reducing racism and bias in service delivery, supporting policy changes at state and national levels, and building a sustainable service delivery network that prioritizes confidentiality and serves low-income residents and adolescents.
