DESCRIPTION

0001 Magneto-Optical

Kerr Microscop

1 Each Magneto-Optical Kerr Microscope

Wide-field optical polarization microscope for high resolution domain observation, including:

- Microscope head, high-end Carl Zeiss optics

- The microscope head is placed on a massive granite stand (80 kg weight) to minimise vibrations, motorized height adjustment

- One screw-in tap hole (M27) to hold one objective lens at the time

- Manual focusing unit with fine and coarse focusing control

- Adjustable luminous-field diaphragm with variable opening to eliminate reflection contrasts emerging from the microscope tube, to select regions of interest in the microscope image, and to control the sample focus

- Binocular tubus, selection between eye-piece and camera observation by means of a push-pull rod

- Tubus lens revolver with optical zoom lenses 1x, 2.5x and 4x, for increasing the magnification of the microscope image (not the resolution!)

- Camera adapter, C-mount

- Eyepieces (ocular)

- Reflector turret with mount with special bright

field reflector module for Kerr microscopy (not depolarising)

- Auxiliary optics for conoscopic imaging, allowing to control the incidence of light (i.e. Kerr sensitivity) by directly viewing the back focal

(diffraction-) plane of the microscope.

- Polarizer, wire-grid type with very high contrast, wavelength regime: 420nm-700nm, Tp@550nm: >

80%, CR@550nm: > 4300, rotatable by 90°

HTS Code: ___________ / COO: ___________

0002 Sample Stage, Regular

1 Each Sample Stage, Regular

- x-y-shift (±14 mm) and Phi-rotation by 360°

- Shift and rotation manually

- Positioning independent of electromagnet to avoid transmission of vibrations

- Sample size up to 35 mm diameter (in-plane magnets) and 25 mm (perpendicular coil)

- Dimensions: width 160 mm, depth 230 mm, height 120 mm, Weight: 2.4 kg

- The specimen is mounted on an aluminium plate of 10 or 20 mm diameter, which is fixed on a brass stick with 10 mm diameter, mounted on the a x-y-

Phi sample stage

- Can be used together with Quadropole Magnet and Perpendicular Coil

HTS Code: ___________ / COO: ___________

0003 Motion and Drift

Correction Ki

1 Each Motion and Drift Correction Kit, Piezo-Stage

In the difference imaging mode, a background image is subtracted from the life image. If the sample position, at which the background image was taken, changes during the experiment, defects and sample edges will appear in the difference image with a strong contrast. The motion- and drift correction kit compensates this effect in real-time. It also compensates vertical drifts, i.e. the sample is kept in focus (autofocus). The kit includes:

- xyz piezo stage, sub-nanometer resolution

- 3 channel controller

- Software for automatic motion control at real time by feedback loop

Remark: this position includes one piezo stage for the regular x-y-phi sample stage (Pos. 2). It can be used for all in-plane magnets and for the perpendicular coil. For application in the perpendicular electromagnet, the piezo stage needs to be remounted. Further piezo stages can be used with the same controller and software.

HTS Code: ___________ / COO: ___________

0004 Perpendicular

Coil

1 Each Perpendicular Coil

- Iron-free solenoid for maximum field homogeneity

- Field along objective axis

- Field strength up to 110 mT

- Sample size up to 25 mm

- The magnet is water cooled

- Supported on magnet holder with adjustable height, support independent from sample holder

- Dimensions: diameter 97mm, width 255 mm, height 59 mm, weight: 3.5 kg
