Inyo National Forest Service South Lake Trail Head Parking Solicitation No: AG-9JGP-S-15-0045 Pre-Bid/Pre-Proposal Conference Minutes

Date:

April 28, 2015 Commenced at 10:00 AM Concluded at 11:00 AM

Attendees:

Tracy Coleman of Coleman Construction – tcoleman2009@hotmail.com Matthew Clair of Doug Clair, Inc – dougclairinc@aol.com Tamara Scholten, Forest Engineer for Inyo NF – tamarascholten@fs.fed.us Justin Krieg, Engineer for Shasta-Trinity - jkrieg@fs.fed.us

We walked the project and discussed the scope. The questions that were asked and the responses are listed below:

Question: Is there concrete curbing being replaced?

Response: Per the bid documents all new curbing in the contract will be asphalt curbing.

Question: Is curbing being replaced around Lot 3 parking islands?

Response: There is an error in the drawings showing that it is replaced. There should be no curbing on the islands of lot 3. The issue will be discussed with the Contracting Officer.

Question: Is contract water source still South Lake because the level is so low?

Response: Due to the drought, water from South Lake is not accessible. The Creek diversion near the project is also dry. The next available water source is located at the culvert located across from Parcher’s Resort, approximately 1 mile from the project. This issue will be discussed with the Contracting Officer.

Question: It looks like grubbing of Lot 3 islands has been completed.

Response: The trees were felled and the stumps and large bushes were removed to facilitate the project, therefore very little grubbing for the project remains. This will also be discussed with the Contracting Officer.

Question: Does the contract specify where to haul excess earthwork?

Response: No the contract does not specify. It is up to the contractor to find a suitable location for excess earth material.
