Question: Is segregation by fencing or other means a hard requirement or will segregation systemically work?

Answer: If it is an open warehouse the government does not want our material mixed with other material that may be managed in the warehouse. The requirement is satisfied as long as there is no mixing of our and other customer’s material.

Question: You have stated temperature ranges in your bid document for the warehouse general storage.

Is this requirement for a climate control facility something you are stating we must have?

Answer: Yes, our material must be climate controlled at a temperature range of 65-80 degrees F.

Revised Answer: Some items such as vaccines will require refrigeration or routine (non-ultra low) frozen storage. Other products such as antiviral medications will require storage at controlled room temperatures between 58F to 86F.

Storage conditions for our general storage is as follows: Store Tychem® garments in a cool, dark, dry location free of dirt and insects. Sunlight, ozone, high temperatures (>120° F), vehicle exhaust fumes, compression under heavy weights and sharp edges or projections are some conditions known to degrade the materials in these ensembles. Store Tychem® garments in boxes, in bags or on hangers.

Never step on chemical protective garments. Never place or store heavy objects on top of chemical garments

Question: Documents are requiring a DEA license. Is this necessary in order to provide a proposal?

Answer: In order to store pharmaceuticals, a DEA License is required. The government encourages all interested parties to provide a proposal even if they do not have this license. Lack of the license will not necessarily be considered a disqualifier.

Question: Can you comment on how long it takes to receive a DEA License and if it is a license by site location?

Answer: We cannot comment on this question, as it is handled externally from our own agency.

Question: Please confirm that the change from Charlotte, NC to Washington, DC makes a qualified facility in Charlotte no longer desirable?

Answer: Due to the potential of being a multiple award, interested parties may provide proposals from locations matching the original solicitation or amendment 0001.

Question: The amendment notes “3PL cold storage warehouses”. Could you confirm that what is meant by this is that all performance under this contract (ambient, refrigerated, frozen) shall be performed in

Washington DC for the east coast?

Answer: The service may be provided in an alternative location for the east coast, or multiple locations in the east coast. Evaluation will be determined based on the best interest of the government.
