Lost Lake Pre-Quote meeting Notes and Questions
1. In the road fill area, is it okay to remove trees as needed, and where should they go?
0. Yes. Remove trees as needed along the fill area only. There are no specifications for where to place the trees.
1. Is it okay to place hay bales and silt fence along the downstream side of the embankment, after the embankment is lowered?
1. The erosion control measures for the construction phase should be placed as soon as practicable. It is possible that it can wait until excavation has advanced, however it will also depend on the site conditions.
1. Is it okay to track through the lake area near the drainage/low spot adjacent the vegetate buffer, in order to more easily access the slump area?
2. It should be avoided if possible, however if it will enable a shorter duration, or benefit the overall project, cost, or create benefit to the government, it will be allowed.
1. Is there a timeframe where tree removal will not be allowed due to endangered bat species?
3. No. Forest Service will clear any trees in advance. There are no restrictions, other than to remain in the boundaries set and marked by the Forest Service.
